Gail Pan has designed yet another lovely stitchery project. This one is called Welcome Friends and the finished size is 26"x32".
It's a lovely scrappy project and you can see it on my website.
Buttonberry has done it again - made another handy bag! This one is a gift bag just perfect for filling with lots of goodies for your friends! Just go to their blog and you will see it on the left hand side. Click on the photo and all the instructions are there. While you're visiting their blog check out the gorgeous baby blanket made from a Moda Swatches pack.
I've finally added the borders to my quilt. Here's a photo showing the red and brown I used -
I plan to use the red from the first border for the binding as well. I had hoped to pin it up ready for quilting yesterday, but I had too many other things to do. I plan to quilt it diagonally through the blocks using the brown triangles as a guide.
Hopefully next time I mention this quilt it will be to tell you it's finished. It seems to be one of those projects that just keeps on going!
Off to Brisbane....
This evening Robin and I are flying to Brisbane for a couple of days to visit our son Matt. He came down for a weekend in March but that seems such a long time ago. We are really looking forward to spending some time with him. I miss having him close by. While he's at work tomorrow Robin and I plan to roam the city. I'm going to visit my favourite yarn shop - Threads n More at Sherwood. It has the most beautiful yarns and I can't wait to check it all out.
I feel that my life has been moving at a really hectic pace lately. Everyday there seems to be a million things to do and as I 'tick' one thing off my list another one is added. Do you every feel like that? Always on the run. I'm still reading Max Lucado's book In the Eye of the Storm which is about one day in the life of Jesus. In one chapter he talks about the importance of actually stepping away from things and allowing yourself to re-focus on what's really important. He gives the example of how Jesus was in the habit of walking away from the pressing crowds and going to a quiet place to pray. It's so easy to get caught up in other people's agendas and find yourself doing things which you don't want to do and shouldn't be doing. It's so easy to think, 'if I don't do it, it won't get done'. Maybe today's a good day to sit down with a cup of tea (or coffee if you must) and set priorities straight.
Until next time
