We had a really good time in Mackay with Matt. The weather was great - it was so nice to be able to wear summer clothes again. We also managed to go swimming at the beach which was a real treat. Mackay is certainly booming at the moment and has changed a lot since we were there last.
While I was away the postie brought Gail Pan's new Christmas designs.
There's Red Blooms for Christmas, an applique table runner,
and a stitchery design called Blessings for All
but my favourite is Santa's Helpers which also includes a cute 'elf pocket' - such a nice idea!
Gail's finished off the wallhanging with prairie points and I think the stitcheries are really cute. It would look nice hanging up for Christmas.
You can find the patterns on my website.
Time to Read...
About the only thing I like about flying is that I get time to read. I managed to finish Kathy Reichs' new book Devil Bones which I really enjoyed. Having said that, I have to admit that I find she can get a bit too technical in parts and provides a little too much information. I tend to skim through those parts which can be pages at a time. Other than that, I like the main character Tempe Brennan but wish that she would resolve her relationship with Ryan. We were left wondering in the end and I find that it's becoming a bit tiresome. She met up with an old flame in this book so will have to read the next book to find out what happens. Despite that, I still enjoyed the book.
Peace on Earth...
When I went away I left my new quilt on my sewing table ready to be quilted. I'm still fiddling with the smaller version but had a brain wave when I was in Mackay so hopefully will get some resolution soon. Will keep you posted!
Until next time
