Finishes and Starts...
It's the start of a new month (yesterday was anyway) and I'm pleased with the number of finishes I managed last month. Of the list I made I completed -
1. Simplify Quilt - it's found a home on a couch.
2. Granny Squares - I'm now sewing them together.
3. New design - Sewing Group pattern
4. Noro vest - has come in very handy in the last couple of weeks.
I didn't finish my cross stitch or the Simple Pleasures quilt. Never mind - next time!
Tea Cosy...
Now that I've actually finished some things I feel much better about starting something new. I bought myself a new teapot recently and although it's a lovely red one, it looks a little 'undressed' and in definite need of a tea cosy.
I bought this book sometime ago simply because I was taken by the unusual tea cosies inside. Some of them area little wild for my taste but all are truly inspiring.
I started to knit one (I'll keep it a surprise) and yesterday at knitting group I started to crochet the embellishments (that's those red curly things sitting on the book).
I wanted to show you the new crochet hook I bought as well. (That's the strange looking brown thing on the left). No longer do you use those old steel hooks - this one is from Clover and is ergonomically designed so you don't get those awful finger cramps. Yesterday was the first time I had used one and did find it really easy to handle. It was a little expensive but I think it was well worth it.
Spooks...
Teresa I agree with you - it wasn't quite the same without Adam. Although it looks like there might be some interesting developments with Lucas the new spook and the Home Secretary was giving Ros some leery looks so wonder if something's brewing there? Spooks rated a mention by Val McDermid in Beneath the Bleeding. Seems Tony's a fan. How about that?
Until next time
Lyn
