I've made slow progress on my Hooked on Crochet design.
I've finished the applique on the inside flap and have the lining ready to assemble. I had a bit of trouble with the stitchery on the front which is why I said progress was slow. I stitched a design of flowers but decided I didn't like it so I went back to the drawing board and started again. I've now finished the 'new' design and am happier with that so now I just have to put it all together. I'm going to use the red check fabric for the binding.
In the meantime, I've been doing a bit of fabric purchasing around town. On Friday I went to the Patchwork Tree in Alderley and Patches at Indooroopilly and managed to buy some nice Christmas fabric from Lynette Anderson's Christmas Magic range.
Then, yesterday we went for a drive to Toowoomba to visit the Quilter's Angel at Highfields.
I had been told that it is lovely shop and I wasn't disappointed. It's full of beautiful fabrics and samples which were hard to resist. I showed a lot of restraint and came away with some basic supplies (stitching fabrics and wool felt) as well as this lovely charm pack of Hushabye fabrics. The colours in this range are very subtle and I have a new design in mind for them!
The shop is in a group of shops with a nice grassy area out front where we sat and had coffee. It was a lovely day and I will definitely be going back.
Until next time
