2 new block of the month projects arrived in store today.
A lot of people have been waiting for the lovely new bom by Leanne Beasley called Down in the Garden.
It really is quite a masterpiece. Lots of stitching and applique to keep you interested. Finished size is 53" x 53" so it's a good size.
There are lots of nice blocks - like Dresdan Plate (one of my favourites), and nine patches and applique hearts.
It's really, really, nice.
The pattern cover doesn't say how big it is but each of the 9 blocks is about 19" so it's a really good size. Looks like it's on a double size bed in the photo here.
So you can get a better idea, I've chosen a couple of my favourite blocks to show you.
This is block one - Encourage Love. It has the larger stitchery/applique block as well as the smaller stitchery design in the bottom right-hand corner.
Natalie has used up lots of scraps form all different ranges so it's a good one to use up your stash.
This is block 4 - Flower Basket. It's mainly applique but it has a small stitchery design in the top left hand corner.
The little girl from Block 1 makes another appearance in Block 3 - Tree Swing. She's in one other block called Pond Dipping.
I think this project is a great stash buster and very achievable.
The new patterns are available on my website.
Until next time
