I just finished another of my stitcheries for the Family Blessings project.
This one is called 'Sisters'. I have one sister who is a little over five years older than me. When we were younger that age gap made a big difference but as we get older the gap just seems to disappear. My sister and I haven't spent a lot of time together because we lived so far apart but now that I'm back in paradise, it means that we have been able to re-connect. It's great being able to go out together for coffee or shopping (we both love shoes and handbags) but more importantly just having someone who shares the same family 'history' brings a special understanding to the relationship. Having a sister is definitely a blessing.
As you can see, I have re-thought my idea of finishing each block as I went. It occurred to me that I may run into some difficulties when piecing the quilt together - what if the blocks don't go together? I have now decided to finish the stitcheries and then add the block borders. Might prevent some future heartache.
By the way, I found the rest of my West Wing dvds and have now started at Series 1 - when Josh had more hair!
Until next time
