Over the weekend, I managed to make some progress on my Medallion Dolly Quilt.
I finished the applique centre square. I've been doing little bits and pieces over the last couple of weeks, but was looking for some handwork to do so thought it was a good time to get it finished.
I then looked at the fabric I had chosen but decided there was a little too much dark brown so substituted some blue for some of the brown. I'm much happier with the colours now.
I had to cut out some 2" squares - I keep scraps of fabric cut into various sizes - 2.5", 3" and 3.5" - but no 2". I soon found out how time consuming cutting 2" squares really is. Anyway, am pleased to say that they are now all cut and sitting in handy piles next to my sewing machine waiting to be sewn together.
Have you been watching the cricket? Robin and a couple of his friends spent 2 days at the Gabba watching the first test against England. Australia got off to a glorious start but it looks like it will end in a draw. I don't mind watching the cricket but wasn't interested in sitting there for 2 whole days. At least watching it at home on the tv means I can do other things at the same time.
Did you watch Spooks? We had a friend staying with us for the weekend and he watched it with us. At the end he said "Could you follow what was happening?" I had to explain that there are always lots of sub-plots and they can carry over from week to week and even series to series. I urged him to keep at it - it will be worth it in the end.
Until next time
