I have finished the stitching on my Ho..Ho..Ho.. design as well as the piecing. I'm now up to the border stage.
I then tossed up what colour to use and settled on the red. Because I'm using a layer cake, I didn't have quite enough of any of the reds to go around the whole quilt. I then thought that I would use four different red prints which fits in with the scrappiness of the project.
I'm also planning to join different lengths of all of the prints to make the binding. Again to add to the scrappiness of it all. (Is scrappiness a word? Sounds like happiness - scrappy makes me happy.)
I think this is my favourite acronym - SINS = Stuff I'll Never Stitch! (Thanks Gina). I have a few of those in my studio. Bought with good intentions but when I got it home realised that it was never going to get done and promptly put it in the cupboard. Every now and then I have a big clean out and pass the stuff onto someone who might actually stitch it. My Mum has been the recipient of lots of my SINS and she always finishes them. Then I find myself thinking how I should have kept it and made it for myself completely forgetting that it has been sitting in my cupboard undone for umpteen months/years. Go figure!
Until next time
