I've put the finishing touches on my Ipad Cover and my IPAD is now safely tucked away!
I'm so glad I chose the blue spotty fabric - definitely one of my favourites - but sadly I don't have any more left now!
The finished size is 10.5" x 8.5" - a nice snuggly fit for my IPAD.
For the flap closure, I was a bit uncertain about using press studs or buttons because I didn't want that pressure on the IPAD so I chose Velcro instead.
It turned out to be a nice quick project and I'm really pleased with it.
The pattern is available in both printed and pdf formats on my website.
Giveaway...
One thing I really like my IPAD for is reading magazines. I'm really pleased that so many magazines are now becoming available in digital format and this is especially true for overseas magazines. For example, I recently purchased Knitscene magazine through Zinio, and not only did it cost me less than half of what I would pay for it at the store, it was available the same day as it was released in US. Normally I would have to wait weeks (sometimes months) before an overseas magazine was available here. To me that's a huge plus. Admittedly some magazines are best enjoyed in printed format - for example Cloth Paper Scissors. I'm more than willing to pay the extra and wait for delivery on that one! But, at least now I have a choice.
My question for you is - Do you prefer your magazines in printed format for digital format? Perhaps you are like me and appreciate the choice or perhaps you are a printed 'person' all the way. Just leave a comment between now and Monday afternoon and you will go into the draw to win a pdf version of the IPAD Cover pattern.
Hi Lyn what a lovely bag and i am a printed girl,i love to look at the patterns and with PDF's i am worried about computer storage space and also if your tower crashes you have lost all your patterns.xx

Hi, Love the ipad cover. I do prefer the old fashioned printed format, that can go anywhere. however do end up with a lot of magazines that take up a lot of space.

I much prefer the printed page, it took a while for me to get used to reading magazines and books online. However, I do appreciated the portability of the I-Pad and the extra choice it gives

Digital magazines would be really convenient, lighter to carry around with you and quick to access BUT you will miss out on the pleasure of sitting down with a cup of tea and a new magazine with its fresh pages, lovely colours, the tactile experiences of turning the pages and enjoying the 'feet up' thrill of each new magazine. I will always love that!

I'm another that loves to sit down with a cup of coffee and a brand new magazine so I guess I prefer the printed page. That said I do love my Kindle.
I love the pretty cover you've made for your iPad.
I don't have an iPad yet but am saving hard for one.
How do you like yours?

Dear Lyn,your iPad cover is lovely. Even though I love a printed version of the magazines, I am enjoying the digital magazines as well.Easy to access and as you said, you don`t have to wait to get them. I like the the idea of not having those craft books cluttering up your work area too. If I really like something in the digital magazine, I print it up. It prints up a lot more compact too.
I have requested a Kindle for my birthday. Thank you for a chance to win the lovely pattern.

Hello Lyn,
Your cover is so pretty. I don't have a i-pad but two of my daughters do. I guess digital magazines are here to stay but I think I would prefer to have it in my hand. Nothing like looking at magazines. I hope the day doesn't come that the printed one is no longer available.
Have a great Sunday.
