Thanks for your comments regarding your love of sewing. It seems I'm not the only one who finds sewing relaxing.
I've spun the random generator and the lucky winner is number 3 - That's you Tanya Hughes. Congratulations. Please email me your address and I will send your patterns immediately.
Weekend...
I had such a great weekend. It started on Saturday - guess where I went?
Yes, Caroline and I went to see Mary Poppins - the musical.
It was absolutely fantastic. It's been years and years since I've been to to the theatre and it was also my first visit to QPAC. The show is such a visual treat and the dancing was outstanding.
Can't rave on enough about it except to say if you get a chance, make sure you go. You won't be disappointed.
Just had to buy some souvenirs. The little carpetbag is a coin purse and key ring and the greeting cards include drawings of the house; Mary (of course) and the Banks family.
(Tanya, I will send you one!)
Snowball Quilt...
As part of my SBS, I've been making snowball blocks. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but frankly I've been a little surprised at how long it takes to sew those squares to the corner to make the triangles. I seemed to be getting nowhere, when yesterday afternoon I decided to knuckle down and get the job done. In the end it took me about an hour to finish the rest of the blocks and now I just have to lay them out on my design floor to see how they all look. A little bit worried about that - hope I don't think it looks totally awful. Fingers crossed.
Picnic Quilt...
While hanging around the web the other day, found this pattern for a 'picnic quilt'. It looked really simple and was a great stash buster so yesterday I sorted out some fabric to use and cut out all the pieces.
For this one, I decided to use some fabric which was a bit 'brighter' than I would normally use in my projects.
I had smaller pieces left over from different projects I had made and they weren't really big enough to do anything with. I thought this quilt would be a good way to use them up.
I've left the pieces by the sewing machine, and will sew it together over the next couple of weeks.
Until next time
Lyn
I love Mary Poppins. I hope the musical makes its way here so I can go and see it :)
