It was a wet weekend here - especially Saturday - which made it a good sewing weather.
Do you remember the Bow Tie quilt I started recently? Well I managed to finish sewing all the blocks together and layer it for quilting.
I've made a total of 49 blocks in 7 rows of 7. I haven't added a border so the finished size will be 42" x 42".
I joined together pieces of fabric for the backing and you know it actually looked good. I think this quilt could almost be reversible!
I'm going to do my usual all over squiggle in a grey thread for the quilting. I had planned to start yeaterday but realised that I didn't have enough thread so it will have to wait until next weekend.
Running to a halt...
I've had a bit of a set back to my running. I overdid it a couple of weeks ago and injured my leg and as a result haven't been able to run properly for 2 weeks. I was becoming very discouraged and today had a trip to the physio. When I walked in the door she said "I know what you are going to ask me but wait a bit." I was very patient while she pushed and pulled and at the end I looked at her and she said "Ask me now." What was the question? "When can I run again?" I was overjoyed when she said that I can do a walk/run on Wednesday. I said "Run/walk?" She said "No. Walk/run." It's a start.
Until next time

Your Bow Tie quilt looks fabulous! I started making Bow Tie blocks using actual ties that I get from opshops, but I got side tracked on to other projects and didn't do many blocks. But they are still in my WIP box, and I haven't forgotten them! Your post has inspired me to drag them out and think about doing some more inbetween the other things I'm working on.
Why bother running when you can walk? I shudder when I see people pounding the pavement; I think of the jolting they are inflicting on their knees and ankles. My doctor and chiropractor always told me that walking briskly for 20-30 minutes a day is the best exercise once you get past the wanting-to-run feeling that you have when you are young. Not that I ever had it. I hated running and always came last in relay races at school!
