I have some fabric left over from my Summer Totes design - enough for a quilt top at least.
I wasn't sure what to make, so I looked throught the book 200 Quilt blocks by Davina Thomas. This book has come in handy on so many occasions. Whenever I'm 'stuck' trying to find a block or just want to know how to make a block, I always turn to this book. All of the blocks in the book are 6" when finished which means that they can be mixed and matched as much as you like.
I was looking for a fairly basic block because of the colourful fabric and I chose Bright Hopes block.
I made a couple as samples and think they will work quite well. But I won't be using the same fabric in the centre of each block - I don't have enough - but will use all different fabrics.
My finished quilt will be 48" square which means that I will have 8 rows of 8 blocks - 64 blocks in all.
I've cut out all the pieces and have enough fabric left for the binding only. My only concern is that it may look a bit 'yellow' which is not my favourite colour. Will see how it turns out.
Until next time
Lyn
