The quilting on the Pink Patches Doll quilt was very quick to do.
With Perle 8 thread I quilted (vertically and horizontally) through the centre of each of the blocks. The sample in the book was quilted in a much 'fancier' way but I just wanted mine to be as simple as possible. I'm happy with the way it looks - which is the important thing I guess.
I looked through my stash for some suitable pink fabric for the binding and tried light to dark shades but in the end settled for this pink stripe fabric which is more in the mid range.
I think it was a good compromise and was quick to do which meant my little quilt is now finished.
Finished size is 17.5" x 21.75".
When I took it over to the house, I put it on the back of an armchair and before I knew it Boots (the cat) had claimed it as his 'new' sleeping place. He's my number one fan and seems to appreciate everything I make. He even sleeps on my knitting bag if I leave it lying around. Makes me feel appreciated.
I noticed that Kathleen Tracy is doing another quilt of the month on her blog this year. The quilts will be from her book The Civil War Sewing Circle which is where this quilt comes from. I'm going to try to join in again this year although it may not be every month. See how it goes.
Until next time
Lyn
Beautiful quilt, and your hand stitching is so neat.
