My Pink Patches Doll Quilt is making good progress.
I was able to find most of the little squares I needed for the four patch blocks in my basket full of 2.5" squares. I say 'most' because it seems that although I have heaps and heaps of little squares, I'm a bit short of light fabric pieces.
While I was cutting some squares for this project, I also cut some 2.5" squares and added them to the basket.
Other than that, the little blocks went together fairly quickly. It was then just a matter of piecing them with the pink squares and adding a border.
For the border, I chose a brown print with pink flowers from my stash. It all went together well, except after I had it all layered for quilting, I noticed that I had placed the four patches in the wrong direction.
In the photo the quilt is horizontal and you can see that the dark patches are running down the quilt but in the book the patches are the other way round. So when the quilt is vertical, the dark patches are running down the quilt. Are you confused?
I looked at it and decided to call it a creative interpretation of the pattern.
I'm going to hand quilt the quilt with Perle 8 thread. Really like doing that.
Until next time
Lyn
At least they are all in the same direction, even if it wasn't the one you had intended, lol. Personalisation is a wonderful thing. It looks good though, the brown is perfect for setting off the pink blocks
