I have put the finishing touches on my Love to Sew needlecase.
As you can see, on the front cover there's a little stitchery design and of course some ric-rac braid. This is more of that yellow braid I found in my mother-in-law's sewing room. It seems to suit just about everything I do. I ended up making the twisted cord from the pink and blue DMC thread. At first I thought it might be a bit too bright but when I put in against the finished item, I really liked it. So there it is.
The finished size is 5" x 9" when opened.
Inside I went for the pink fabric as the lining and the blue print for the pockets. I settled for the grey wool felt rather than the blue.
On the left side, there are two pockets - just the right size for packets of needles. Always essential in a needlecase. On the right side, the pocket is big enough to hold embroidery floss, clover cutter, unpicker, etc. for your current project.
The pattern is available in both pdf and printed formats, on my website.
Giveaway...
I Love to Sew design includes 2 of my favourite things - ric-rac braid and a twisted cord. All that's missing is a button and then it would have been 3 out of 3. Whenever I'm looking for something to embellish a project with I usually choose one of those. What are your favourite embellishments? Maybe it's the binding? or the quilting? Just leave a comment between now and Friday morning about your favourite embellishment and you will go into the draw to win a pdf copy of the I Love to Sew pattern.
Until next time
