I've finally finished another of my Nice People Nice Things blocks. This one is called Music.
I'm sorry that the photo is a bit blurred but Flossie was hiding under the quilt I had it sitting on, so every now and then it moved around!
I stitched 'music' in green thread and the lines in blue and the notes in gold with red hearts. I'm not sure that I really like the colour combination but my thinking at the time was to try to use all the threads I had initially selected in the blocks and then in the whole quilt it will just all look good together. I hadn't used green for wording yet so I thought it would be good here.
This is the back of the block:
Again, I stitched the words in green and added red hearts.
I lay all of my completed blocks together and they are starting to look really nice. I think the quilt will be special when it's finished. I'm still debating what size to make it. My thinking at the moment is a lap size quilt which means I won't need the total blocks. With that in mind, I think I will be selective about which blocks to stitch in future. There are so many lovely ones to choose from but some will be more appropriate to me than others.
I've already ironed on the next lot of stitcheries. I'm really glad I chose the iron-on transfers because it just makes it so quick.
At the start of the year I optimistically stated that I could finish this quilt this year - well now I'm not so sure! Still I know I will be happy with it whenever I finish it.
Until next time
